Lepidolite is a purple-grey mineral from the same family as Muscovite. It is the mineral with the highest Lithium content, and it is used by manufacturers as a source of this mineral.

Lepidolite, like all other minerals in the "Mica" group, is extremely brittle and tends to crumble.

Most Lepidolite comes from Brazil, and it can be found in a variety of colours. In nature it most commonly appears in pink, violet, and red, though it is sometimes found in grey, and rarely in yellow.

Its reddish hue comes from its Manganese content.
