Fluorite is a mineral form of calcium fluoride, known for its remarkable colour variety and perfect crystalline structure. It is found in green, blue, purple and yellow hues, and is very often multicoloured, with colours flowing seamlessly into one another.

Because Fluorite has a cubic crystal structure, it frequently forms perfect cubes, octahedra or other geometric shapes.

Its name derives from the Latin word fluere (to flow), as it was historically used in the smelting of metals.
