Tarot VS Orakeljske karte: Kakšna je razlika?

Tarot VS Oracle Cards: What's the Difference?

If you've ever toyed with the idea of insight into the messages the universe brings you, you've probably already flirted with tarot or oracle cards.

Tarot and oracle cards carry deep messages. If we open up to them, they will show us something that we may already know deep down, but never came to the surface.

However, when people ask me which is better - tarot or oracle cards - there is no correct answer.

What are the main differences between tarot and oracle cards?

If you've ever considered exploring messages from the universe, you've probably already looked into tarot or oracle cards.

Tarot and oracle cards carry deep messages. When we open ourselves to them, they can reveal something we might already know deep inside but hasn't yet surfaced.

When people ask me which is better - tarot or oracle cards - there's no right answer.

So what are the main differences between tarot and oracle cards?

Oracle Cards

Oracle cards are known for their "freedom" and flexible interpretation. Oracle card decks vary greatly from one another, so everyone can find something that resonates. The number of cards also varies between different oracle decks.

The card illustrations and their messages are broader in scope and help answer life's fundamental questions. They provide wider answers and are less structured compared to tarot.

When choosing between decks, the selection is truly diverse. Not only do the themes vary, but the messages can differ too.

You can choose between crystal oracle cards, cards focusing on specific messages/quotes, cards with moon phases as central elements, or even "business" cards.

Oracle cards are perfect for those who want to embrace free interpretation of messages and a general approach to card reading.

Tarot Cards

Tarot cards, unlike oracle cards, have a more rigid structure and come with more rules. However, this doesn't mean they're not open to creative interpretation.

Most tarot decks have 78 cards, regardless of the iconography and approach of the cards/decks. Also, the meanings of individual cards are similar across different decks.

Each tarot deck has two "sub-decks" - the Major and Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana usually speaks of bigger life changes, while the Minor Arcana addresses smaller changes in daily life. Together, both Arcanas form a complete story and message.

Tarot cards are excellent for those who prefer a unified approach to card reading with a bit more structure.

How to Choose What's Better for Me?

When choosing between tarot and oracle cards, there's no winner. Similar to crystals, you must choose based on intuition.

What draws you in?

Which cards call to you?

Follow your intuition, as it always speaks truth.

Card Reading Can Be Creative!

If you can't decide on specific cards, it might be a sign that two decks are calling you.

You can actually combine decks during readings. Many people start with oracle cards, which serve as orientation or direction for where the reading will go.

They help reveal the main questions the reader seeks answers to.

Tarot cards then often serve as an "addition" to the foundation set by oracle cards. They provide detailed insight into predetermined themes and clarify unanswered questions.
